The U by Moen Smart Faucet is powered by 6 D-Cell batteries that are included with the product and last for up to 2 years. If AC power is desired you may purchase the AC adaptor kit (SKU: 169031) which is sold separately. Moen recommends using both batteries & AC power in case power goes out.
